We would like to introduce our newest intern, Dane Bowen. Dane is family friends with Michael Johnson’s family. After discussing an internship for a couple of years, having Dane work at Flagstone finally made sense, and he began working here mid-August. If you’re a Flagstone client, you might be interacting with Dane over the next couple of months, so we thought you’d like to hear a little about him. Directly from him, here’s some information about his background, what he’s up to at UNL, and what he’s doing at Flagstone:
Hi there, my name is Dane Bowen, and I am currently interning here at Flagstone Financial Management. I was born right here in Lincoln, and grew up on our family acreage just outside of Roca, Nebraska. I graduated from Lincoln Southwest High School in 2017, and chose to further my education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I am just starting my junior year, and pursuing a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, as well as a Certificate of Sales and a Minor in History.
I am a member of Farmhouse Fraternity at UNL, and spent this past summer as a Rush Chairman for the house. I plan to run for an executive position when we hold our elections this coming fall. I am also a member of the university chapter of Ducks Unlimited as well as Navigators Bible Study. Outside of school and campus life, I enjoy hunting, fishing, fly-fishing, golfing, and pretty much anything else outdoors. My involvements and hobbies keep me pretty busy, but I’m extremely thankful for the relationships, connections and memories they have brought me.
Although I’m not studying economics or finance, I have always been very interested in these subjects. This internship at Flagstone is a great opportunity for me to get first-hand knowledge and experience in financial services. Although I haven’t been here long, it’s easy to see that the people here truly care and work hard for every one of their clients. It is a privilege to work for a company that places such a high value on their relationships. I’m very much looking forward to my time here at Flagstone, and am grateful for the opportunity to work here and learn!
